Thanks for answering my previous question regarding the filters everyone. Hopefully you guys can help me with another...

As I mentioned previously I have a 29 gallon tank. My ultimate intentions are to fill it with Koi Swordtail (3 females and 1 male), 1 or 2 Hi-Fin Platy (or Lyretail Swordies), a few (2 or 3) freshwater Clams and some Corydoras (I'm thinking 4 or 6---whichever number can be supported by my tank and is best for their well-being). I'd also like to include any 1 of the following: Cherry Fire Shrimp, Bamboo (Marble) Shrimp, or Crab. And of course..a blue mystery snail.

Is that too much for a 29? I intend to do regular water changes, of course. I just don't want to overdo things and I'm more interested in having the fish than the Inverts---so I'll keep them off the list if they'll contribute to the OS'ing of the tank.

Thanks for the advice thus far!

it doen't sound overstocked.
by fill with swordtails do you mean hwne you've added the other fish then you will put as many swordtails as there is space for, or than the tank can comfortably house?
if you get panda corys they stay smaller then the regular ones.

nix the crab.. it'll eat your fish.

i wouldnt put more than 3 of 4 swordtails in there TOTAL, but thats MO.

To clarify, I intend to keep 4 Koi Swordtail total---3 females and 1 male and maybe do 2 Platy or another variety of Swordtail. That would be a total of 6 fish. And then there'd be the 4 or 6 corydora for a grand total of 10 or 12 fish. Adding inverts to the total, I'd end up with 10 or 12 fish and 5 inverts---so 15 or 17 occupants in the tank, total.

Of course if that seems like it'd be too much I'll just go with 4 Koi Swordtail, 4 or 6 Corydora, and 2 inverts (unless those shrimp like to be in pairs?) for 10 or 12 total occupants in the tank.

Would the Corydoras be ok in a school of 4 or would 6 be best?

And for further clarification, the type of Corydoras I intend to keep are 2 Pandas, 2 Albino, and either 2 Swartz or 2 Nanus.

When you get corys you should keep them in a group of the same species. I've heard mixed counts of them schooling together but it seems that they do better with their own kind. I would probably keep 4 of them. Of course, in the end, it's your decision on what you want to put in your tank.
