pH meter is a useful tool if you measure CO2 from a relative position(which should always be done, this applies even more so to a drop checker), it is far more subtle and accurate in terms of a relative measure. DC's have basically 3 positions, too much, too little and maybe okay, since most are set to hit 30ppm......this may or may not be enough for a given tank.
