Okay on my 55 FOWR(not LR yet) im using a tetra tec filter plus im going to make a little box to hold some macro. Im going to cut and glue some plexy to look like the hang on refugiums, but i want to cut out the centers. this will leave a frame like box. in the center i want to glue some screen material to let the water flow freely with out pumps. I'm going to put a bunck of brillo alage in it. Will this help me with nitrites and phosphates?

Make sure you can get it and trim easily. Brillo doesn't require as frequent pruning as sawblade caulerpa, but you'll still want to be able to get to it easily. Use a fairly large mesh, so pods can come and go easily as well. You could also use egg crate instead of a fiberglass mesh--then snails and other cleaners could more easily get in and out as well.

It should be good. I agree that a big mesh size would be best. What will you use for light?

I have 2 10k flourescent hanging over the tank. this tank will have only leaffish and 1 eel. I might put a few low light corals.
