Will koi eat snails?

awesome, thank you. I thought I was buying gold fish for my 30 gallon and found out later they were small koi. Anyway, I have a snail problem and noticed in my dad's gold fish tank there were no snails so figured maybe they would eat them. Perfect, now the cool temps will help the java fern and the koi will eat the snails that are destroying it. They seem to think the java fern tastes nasty.
 
Yep, the Petsmart I frequent always has a koi in a tank or two eating their pest snails. What are you gonna do with them when they get big? They are really pond fish...or massive aquarium fish!
 
I will give them away. Usually I don't try to make money off stuff I don't need. I would rather make someone's day.
 
Oh, no, no, no. You put the snails into the koi pond, don't put the koi into a tiny tank! Iz backwards!
 
I know, they are small now. When they get bigger I'll give them to someone with a pond.
