Will Kuhli Loaches eat small snails?

There's a good article on snails in the article section, you should check that out first!

Also, I'm not so sure all kuhli loaches eat snails. There was a thread very recently on kuhli loaches and snails, and the majority said kuhli's didn't eat snails... judging by the info, I think only a few eat snails!

Hope this helps, and good luck in eliminating the cause!

Well, I've already reduced my feeding to try to reduce thier reproduction rate...I've read alot about snails but I guess I need to do some more reading about kuhli loaches.

Most loaches will eat snails. I need to get me a few for snail control.

i think it would be a good idea to ditch the danios... i have a pair in my 20g and they are the meanest, nippiest little buggers ever (my girlfriend affectionately refer to them as "a**hole fish").

the main perpetrator is more than three years old now, so maybe he's just getting miserable and crotchety in his old age, but still. i think you'd get more enjoyment (and snail prevention!) from the loaches.

and if i may go a bit :OT: there are three yo-yo loaches in the 20, and with the plants we most recently bought we found a hitchhiking snail and tried to feed it to them. our female betta ate it up before they even had a chance to smell it!

Ihave three newly acquired Yoyo loaches in my 20-long quarrantine tank, which was planted and heavily populated with pond snails ... the Yoyos (ranging from 1.25" to 2") cleaned out the snails overnight. The Yoyos are less reclusive than the 5 Kuhlis I have in the 55 gal. Barb Community tank ... the Kuhlis spend the day in hiding under the driftwood, where I can catch an occasional glimpse of them peering out at me. The Yoyos also have a large curvey piece of driftwood to hide under, but they come right out to see if I am bringing them more pond snails ...
