Okay so I'm sure this question is asked a lot. I'm planning on getting a 75 gal. tank, I know weighs at least over 100 lbs without the water. I'm not the best drawer, so I tried to draw it on mspaint. Its a general idea of the desk, it originally had a drawer on the inside for a keyboard. If my woodworking skills still work then I believe its made out of pressboard, and doesn't wobble or even groan when more then one person sits on it (over 300+ pounds). Though I have no idea how heavy the 75 gal tank is with water. Any advise?

I wouldnt trust it..
keep in mind that water weighs about 8# per gallon..
so a 75 gal will hold 600# of water..

Being made of pressed wood, and not designed to carry a load, I wouldnt even try it.

My personal opinion is that it's always best to get a stand that is built to hold an aquarium. If you're spending the time, money and energy into a large lovely aquarium, don't chance a horrible accident. Just my 2 cents.

I would not even try it. You have a large area there with no support and it will most likely collapse over time with all the weight. Pressed board is not sturdy either. I would not use it.

you can do it but in a very short time you are going to have a very expensive mess on your hands.

Get 4 grown men to sit on top of your desk. One by one. See if you can refrain from cringing after the second one sits down, and you'll understand exactly why we all want to see you get a proper stand for your tank. Computer desks may be designed to handle up to 75ish lbs on their surface... 1/10th of what it'd be carrying if you put a 75g tank on it. A tank stand for a 75g tank is likely designed to carry a load of 1000 lbs, just in case.

^^ thank you for the advise, I have limited space so I figured I could try using what I have, but I see all of your points. I will have to add a stand to my list of things to save for.

this is a stretch but how about using cinder blocks on both sides under the desk for support & 3/4" plywood on top? saves you your space & distributes the weight better.

otherwise as is n.g.

btw - 75gal tank would be 600lbs h2o 100lbs tank + substrate

If you add a nice tablecloth or curtains that matches the room's decor a cinderblock stand can look very nice.
