Will my desk hold my tank?

cinder blocks o.O it looks a little unstable to me though, and I will have a 48x18 75 gallon tank on it. Its a really cool idea though, if I could set it up without worrying about my 75+ pound standard poodle running into it and knocking it over (she doesn't know how big she really is)
 
625.8948082 Pounds of water + 100 pound tank + substrate = probably not the best idea. tho i do have a 175 on a pressboard entertainment stand but it doesnt have legs and has built in supports. it's not so much the material i am doubting as the design. after you figure 1,460.4212191 Pounds of water plus 100 pounds substrate and the tank whick weights 400 pounds easy that's almost a ton (standard) on pressboard
 
few of my friends have cinder block stands they painted the blocks black and the plywood black and they look really nice you dont even notice they are just cinder blocks.
 
How would this work as a idea? I'm going off of the idea that the tank will be 48x18x21. So far the areas around here that have cinder blocks are 6x8x16, so I will use a L design on the back area so that it will take the extra inches. I know it looks really tall but the 'stand' will be around 29" tall. Depends on how thick I get the plywood, I'm thinking maybe 1/2"?

Sorry forgot to add in that the five bars at the bottom would be the sheets of plywood.
 
I don't think you need all those plywood sheets unless you specifically need shelving area. And at the top, use 2 x 4s to support the top sheet of 3/4" plywood that the tank sits on. On a a small 4 foot tank, I wouldn't bother with the center cinder blocks at all.

I think you'd be pushing your luck. That is a lot of weight spanning 4'. The pressure on the glass could be too much. From what I learned about fishtank stand design, there should be supports every 2 feet. So the centre blocks stay. Her design is simple and would work. Don't forget the styrofoam!
 
under the tank... it helps sometimes with bigger tanks. it gives them more even support in the off chance something bows or doesn't make contact in just the right area. it can prevent things like all those busted tank disasters from silicone peeling or glass shattering from uneven pressure. so, yes styrofoam.
