Will my fish live?

Just a note, legbamel started this posting, I was just trying to offer how mine has worked. Aquarium salt has worked for me, added per the recommendations I'd found online to create a decent "brackish" mix. I finally moved the last of the guppies out of there this Saturday when I was cleaning. They went back into the "general population" 55... Seemed fine this morning, but I'll be watching them for the next few days in case of shock.

Aquarium salt does nothing for brackish fish, in the long run you need to use marine salt. Aquarium salt may work for guppies and mollies but for fish like a figure eight puffer they'll only last short term with aquarium salt. Figure eights have been known to last lengthy terms in full FW, but nothing you'd consider a success in any way.

Your initial post, made in August, implies that you were beginning the conversion of your tank at that time--around 2 months ago. The effects of increasing salinity won't be noticable within this time frame, especially low levels.

That would have been from me - and I "unconverted" the tank back to pure fresh water as the majority of my fish would not be happy in BW. But I still keep my toes in this water (so to speak) so that I can start a brackish later, when I get another tank!
