Hi,
I have about 6-8 ghost shrimps in my 20 gallon tank.
Thinking about adding cherry shrimps in the tank.
Would it work out? Read somewhere that ghost shrimp can eat them. Is this true?
I have some guppies and cory fish in the tank. Would they eat the cherry shrimps or the babies?
Thank you.

My Cory ignores the cherry shrimps even when the shrimps try to munch on the corys pellet right next to it.

thanks for your reply.
so cory is safe... what about ghost shrimps and guppies? anyone?

It depends on which species of ghost shrimp you have. If you have the ones with pinchers then they will likely kill the rcs.
As far as guppies go they will most likely munch some of your baby rcs but as long as you have ample moss for the babies to hide in then they won't get them all.

I've got ghost and RCS in my 10g. The RCS have greatly outnumbered the ghosties. I do have a small Japanese Blue Guppy and 3 silver hatchets this tank. They could easily eat the shrimp fry, but I've never witnessed it.

thank you very much ^_^ guess ill put then together and and put a moss ball for the babies to hide. thanks again for sharing your experience and advice.

:shark:
Guppies will eat the baby shrimps for sure. When I had my guppies they actually squeeze through the moss just to hunt for them.
After about a week, I end up giving all the guppies away.

hmm.... thanks for sharing your experience lozt.
maybe i'll need to setup another tank for the baby shrimps =)

Yeah, a bunch of guppies would be a problem. My single little Japanese blue just hangs at the top most of the time with the 3 silver hatchets in my shrimp tank. I've never seen him/her prowl around for shrimp and the spec sized shrimp fry can be on the glass right near him.
