The lighting I have is 542w odysea system for my 90 gallon reef tank... I am now debating if i should sell it and do a retro fit or if i should keep it and use it.
First off is that enough watts per gallon for a 90 gallon? Its the size of a 75 gallon tank just a little taller...
The brake down of the system is (2) 175w double ended halides and (2) 96w acidic fluorescents...
My second problem is no one in the world makes 175w double ended halide bulbs... so my LFS is calling odysea and asking if I can use 150w double ended bulbs in the system. Does anyone know if i can do that? also will the 150w halide bulbs be strong enough? I plan on having a mixed reef tank. A little of everything.
Or should i sell this light and do a retro fit on the hood that I built?
With this light i have will i be able to keep a clam?
