will salt weaken aquarium?

will salt destroy the silicone that holds the tank together?
i'm thinking of getting a used tank..
but it has saltwater that has dried up inside..
the tank is kept indoors so it doesn't get exposed to sunlight... but theres dried salt inside..
will this cause the silicone to weaken?

It should be fine..just wet the salt down to remove it..dont scrub it off dry.Check the silicone well and if possible..fill the tank outside..just be careful to keep the tank level and well supported.

Terror- if this was the case, saltwater aquariums would be in trouble!

Salt should not weaken silicone at all...
