Hey All,

I'm looking for a way to control Algae in my Planted tanks,
I have 2/55's & 1/bow with Amazon Swords & Breeder Size Angels, the fish are well fed . Lighting is on a 12 hr. cycle, home made CO2 system.
(Lots of hiding places for shrimp to hide) I'm aware of the possibility of the Angels eating a few and I am willing to give it a try, if anyone has shrimp F/S or can recommend an alternative.

I am new, so please bare with me. This is the best site I have found in years.

Thanks,
John /Pa. :help:

Your angels will hinder their productivity in helping control algae, so generally they would help. But in your case, no. Shrimp will spend most of their time hiding, rather than cleaning.
Then again, shrimp will only help a bit on cleaning algae by slowing it down, they won't really stop it.

Cherry and Amano shrimp will eat various algae and won't cost you too much either.

I know several people who keep shrimp with angels..the angels will try to eat the shrimp, but typically in a tank as heavily planted as yours appear to be, they will survive and reproduce. You could also look into a bristlenose pleco, or some olive nerite snails (do not breed in fw, but will lay eggs under the waterline).

with breeding angels your best bet is
