Hi Friends !

I have a Air Curtain on the Side of the aquarium and I've placed an internal filter right above it. The Air Bubbles are being sucked in to the filter. Will this harm or destroy the Filter's pump in any way ? Do I need to remove the aeriator (air curtain) to run the filter properly ?

Kindly advice.
Regards
Kush

The air bubbles will not destroy your filter. Infact, thats good since the bubbles, (O2) is being absorbed by the nitrifying bacteria;thus causing better nitrifying conversion performance and build-up of good bacteria(nitrifying bacteria):)

Hi there !

Thanks for caring andfor the kind reply.

Sorry for asking this, but just wanted to request you to kindly let me know if you're sure of this. Actually the Eheim Internal Filter (which has been gifted to me by my family) has cost them a lot and I dont want it to be damaged.

Wont the Air Bubble Sucked inside the Power-Head harm or damage the Impeller or Motor etc ? Any chances of this happening ? Kindly let me know...

Thanks again for caring and for the reply :)

if an air bubble gets into a powerhead it will be spat back out

Hi there !

Thanks for the reply and for caring...

I guess 1 bubble will not be problem, but if its numerous bubbles from the air Curtain, continously fed in to the Filter intake, 24 hours a day ? Will it be still ok and fine ?

I'm only asking this again because the Filter Intake is Directky above the Air Bubbles which continously enter the Intake. Sorry if I'm asking this again and again, but its only because I dont have any idea on how a internal filter works and what are the parameters that it needs to run efficiently..

Kindly advice....
Thanks again for having patience with me..

it causes friction and turbulance in the impeller chamber, which will eventually wear out the impeller, faster than normal. it should not affect anything else. may cause extra noise.

Hi there !

Thanks for the reply and for caring.

Can the impeller be changed afterwards ? Are they available seperately ? Even for Eheim internal filters ?

Kindly advice.
Thanks !
