i have a gt hes about 4 or so inches long....had him since he was a baby fish very mean....i bought a larger jd...put him in their and once they saw each outher they did the lockin the jaw deal ......anything u can do to get them to get along or is it a hopeless deal like i think it is....im trying to find a tank mate but with the gt's aggression its pretty difficult
There are a number of things that could affect the behavior of your fish. Tank size, water parameters, aquascaping (hiding places, territory markers), & of course personality (some fish just won't get along)  Try moving stuff around in the tank w/ them out then put the 'baddest' one in last -- or if there's enough room maybe a divider will help. Sometimes only separate tanks is the answer. Good Luck

Most fish will become aggressive to a newcomer into their tank, try switching some of your plants, rocks etc around. This usually helps cut down on aggressive behavior.
Yeah i know the tank is to small for the both of them.......but even if i put the 2 in my 125 i dont think they would get along....the green terror is territorial .....plus i moved him to the 55 i dont think he liked it very much...but for obvious reason's i am looking for a 75-90 gallon tank...cause these small 55's just wont satisfy what i wanna keep....I'm just gonna take the jd back to the lfs cause hes just not happy and get credit....prolly set up a 10 becuse they have some small gt's up their ....and once i get get some size to them i coudl try to interduce them with my outher gt....... i just wish i could keep the jd its a nice fish....i just dont have the space right now i guess to keep a tank for just one fish or id give the whole tank to him
my male GT was the meanest fish in my tank when he was a baby and was in a 30gal, with a con and a dempsey. all about 1 to 2 inches. The GT grew fast because he ate all the food. Then I moved him to my 90 with a 5in female Tx cichlid, a 5in male con and everyone is getting along. Like a stated in another post he is now about 8in and you all saw how much less agressive he is. I am also guessing beside your tank size it is two males.
Might I suggest you slip a couple rufies into your tank? Just let the rufies dissolve and in a couple of hours, you'll see your fishes humping each other.
