While I was at petsmart buying equipment for my 40 gallon, I found out that the tetra dollar sale is done! I thought it was supposed to continue until the end of the month. :( But, I did see an awesome an somewhat rare (I believe) tetra. Hyphessobrycon flammeus It was labeled as Orange Von Rio Flame Tetra. It is was $2.49 which is about a buck cheaper than bleeding hearts which I was planning on getting. Do you think angelfish would eat these? They grow to a maximum size of 2 inches (5 cm) and are not as slim as neons or cardinals.

Here's a couple links about them.

I haven't bought the fish yet, but I was hoping to get them and then buy a small/young angel.

If you're getting a small young angel, get the tetras in the tank first so they feel comfortable and know the landscape. Then add your small angel. They should be fine.

Thats what I was planning, thanks! :)

I have a group of 15 in my 90g with 3 young Angels. They school/shoal together very well. They hang out in the upper level which is nice. The Angels have not bothered them. They are a nice, hardy fish.

Thanks for the info! Its appreciated! :)

Lucky! They are a lovely little fish, aren't they? I wanted them for my community tank, but I couldn't find them around here. I went with lemon tetras instead.

Von rios are probably one of my tetras. I personally think they should be called sunrise tetras because of their coloration. Honey has a school of them in with angels and they're fine.

Bazil~They are one of the most beautiful tetras in my opinion.
FastFly~So it sounds like they will be fine! Thanks!
