will this light work for a 29g reef???????

It's an ok light. The individual reflectors that are referenced in your other threads will not fit in that fixture, as the bulbs are placed too close to one another for individual reflectors to be installed without distorting the shape of the reflectors (and making them less effective). Be aware that your tank is longer than 24", so you wouldn't have end to end coverage with that fixture.

Again, whether or not it's "enough" light will depend on the corals you'd like to have. If you just want mushrooms and zoas as stated in your other post, then yes, that light will be fine. There's a number of other soft corals you could keep, too, as well as some LPS corals that should be fine. If you want higher light corals or SPS, some might be ok at the very top of the tank, but that fixture is not one to choose if you want a SPS dominated tank.

wow...THANK YOU

didn't even realize my tank is 30" across, which is actually rather disappointing since they don't have a 30" version of this light so I'm back to square one in attempting to find a lighting fixture

ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!

someone please help

having an extremely tough time finding something that will cover the entire 30" span of my tank in either a T5 or a halide

i'm not sure what you could keep with the PC's... i've got them in my 29 bio-cube and i've got shrooms, a leather toadstool, gsp and yellow polyps in there doing great. my 37g is i think 30 inches and everything is doing great under the nova extreme light (again no sps in there). here's a pic

You could use 2 of these

They are still just 24 inch bulbs but it would fit your tank and one other thing is they dont have fans.

just wanted to say thanks to everyone thats helped out so far

as for that link, I like it and thanks for the suggestion, I guess that would just mean replacing my current hood with basically a piece of acrylic but I think I might give that a shot...or maybe combine one of those with one of these...
