Will This Work?

I keep angels, so I am not as offended by Mrs. Longtime's suggestion.

But to keep it exciting I'd avoid domestic (black veiled angels) and put wild angels and festivums in together. They are less wimpy, active and fun to watch.

So if you feel you must go with angels, maybe that helps out abit.

That does help and she is selling me on the angels. The 125 is in the living room and I like it to be beautiful and not upsetting to guests. The JD, Texas, and etc. do get rough and they will rearrange the tank to please themselves. I can just see a major war breaking out at the most iinappropriate time. Or worse yet, the convicts breed, I don't remove the babies because I have no place to put them and the Texas decides to eat a couple as some 5 year old looks on in horror!

How many did you have in the tank to start with and did you have anytihing in there with them?

We started with four that flourished with a couple of swords and a couple of red claw crabs. The botias came a little later. Then one angel after another got sick until there were two. We introduced two more and they made everyone miserable. Then we got down to just the one. We got it three friends and it went well then the original died, then two more and now the last one just fought off fin rot.

The swords, botias and otto cats have all done well, oh yea I reintroduced a african butterfly after the first one committed suicide.

Wow, I am now a senior member!:OT:

YES SIR! :bowing:

Well, we are back to the original plan. I have more suitable decorations for the CA/SA type tank and they are definitely more exciting and cheaper! I'll move in my 4-5" pleco and let the games begin.

She Who Must Be Obeyed will be happy with the 55. It will be small tetras and such.

Now, if she lets me rearrange the living room and look into a 175g or something, she can have the 125g, but that ain't gonna happen any time soon! :sad

Life goes on! Do you think the tank will be well stocked?

1 Texas
2 JD
2 Convicts
1 Common Pleco

In a 125? Would you add something else? Change the mix? What about scavengers?

I'm just looking for ideas!

I have the same fish in a 150g. The only Difference is that I have 3 large Danios and 2 Spotted Raphaels.

This tank has been set up for about 2 yrs with no problems what so ever.

Hope this helps,
Dave

What type of danio? Is it a giant danio Danio aequipinnatus, Danio malabaricus, or some other? Don't they get picked on?

What is the total number of fish in your aquarium? I did not see a link to your tank specs.

Yes, you have been helpful. THANKS!

Angels

Hi,

I'm new to this forum, but not new to Angels. I have raised and bred them for years now. I am attaching the last batch which I still have about 50 left. But here is the photo.

Sorry about that I did mean Giant Danio. They used to get picked on sometimes, but that is why I put them in there as "target fish". But now they hardly get messed with and they have been in there since I started stocking the tank. The spotted Rapheals only come out when the tank lights are off.

I used to have a web site that I would link to my tanks, but I let that fall to the wayside early last year. I think I need to update it and add back to my signature.

The total # of fish for this tank is 12 fish.
2 JD's, 2 Convicts, 1 Texas, 2 Plecos, 2 Spotted Raphaels, and 3 Giant Danios.
