Hi all,
Just got some Java Fern Windelov.
No rhizome to speak of, just roots. Should I tie it like regular java, or is it ok to plant in substrate?

If it's just the stringy roots, I guess you could... My java ferns never really build up much rhizome, just skinny sticks. :huh: then again, the adult leaves never seem to last long in my water. :swear:

treat it the same as regular java fern. It definitely does better tied on to something vs. planting the little roots.

I would suggest tying it to something (rock, wood, etc.).
I've noticed that it tends to grows a lot slower than regular java fern... wonder why....

I have some rocks with holes in them, and I stuck the ferns in there! I hope they don't grow too fast; I like them small.

My windelov tends to stay much shorter then my regular java fern
