Wish List...best fitting aquarium

I'm sure this list will change a hundred times but, it's fun to make. Here are some of the things I'm wanting to get:

orange spotted lawnmower blenny - hair algae
lettuce neudebranch - algae (says they are hardy...this particular kind anyway)
turbo astrea snails: eat slime and algae
nassarius - eat dropped food and poo
porcelin crab - cleans water
cleaner shrimp - clean fish/prevent disease (blood/fire)
Turbo snails, limpets

(Obviously, I'm picking things based on how they can help the tank...forgive my notes on that.)

And feather dusters, christmas tree dusters, and clown fish

I'm ordering stuff for water movement tomorrow. I'll either get a hob or cannister filter. Any suggestions about these?

Cerith snails!! Get those, they eat diatoms like no other. Thats the brown stuff that growns on your sand. I would think twice about turbo snails, or at most, get 1. They are the "bulldozers" of the tanks, knock anything over in their way, and it becomes a pain real quick if you plan on corals.

Yes, the Lettuce Nudibranch is really the only "aquarium" safe nudibranch IMO. All the others require very special diets, none of which you can grow or purchase so they starve to death.

I have never had much luck with featherdusters. Too many fish pick at them and they can't come out enough to feed. They are really cool though. The tiny ones that live on the rocks seem to spread like crazy though.

As for a HOB Filter, I recommend the Rena Smartfilter30 for your tank. I have one on mine and I think it works great. I have a sump as well, so it really isn't needed, but I like the surface agitation it helps create.

check charlotte craigslist for live rock. there is a 55g tank on there right now with 60 lbs of live rock and some inverts for $400, so that's like paying $6.60/lb for the rock and getting everything else for free. . . . heck, you go get the live rock and just drop the tank off at my place.

The blenny will be OK in there but I do have to say that mine makes full use of the 55g and stays mostly at the bottom and middle. I like turbo snails, but the black footed ones as they stay smaller and don't have the bulldozing issues that the larger ones do. Don't expect the porcelain to make a noticable difference in cleaning your water. They are filter feeders like a featherduster worm but they aren't really a cleaner in my opinion. Then again my cleaner shrimp don't clean either, lazy things.
