Just won a new AquaClear 50 on eBay for $28.99!

Hopefully it lives up to all the hype the people make about this filter lol

Aquaclears are pretty great.... Get a filter bag and your set. You no longer have to buy cartridges made only for your specific filter.
 
I have a 70 & 110, hopefully another working 110 I picked up for $10 that should be arriving. For a power filter they are about the most capable and have allot more potential when modified but that's a different subject.

Enjoy! You picked about the best power filter you can buy for that capacity class and seems like a good price for used.

I have a media bag already with Purigen in it. How would you guys recommend I begin the bio process with the new filter... I don't have space for both filters on the tank with the hood that I have. Should I just transfer the media and be alright?
 
Congratulations! I think you hit on a pretty cool deal on the filter. :) You could transfer the media if you wanted to. Or you could set-up another tank, transfer the used media to the new tank, and start a new filter bag for the AquaClear 50 when it arrives. If the AquaClear 50 is going to be in an established and fully cycled tank, I don't see it taking very long for the new filter bag to complete it's bio process. :D
 
Nice price. Just put the media from the existing filter in it.
 
Just got the filter today. Installed it and after priming... IT IS SO NOISY!!! Is the solution just to get the warranty from Hagen? Paying those $5 shipping is going to ruin the good price I got it at!
