Wondering why your classifieds threads are closed? Check this thread!

This is mainly geared toward the for sale items. Ifyou want to trade, put FT, <location>, shipping method, and if its fish or plants but a general title. so say you have plants and filters you want to trade, you would put FT plants and filters, anywhere, USA, shipping.

you don't have to list every item, but just please give an idea of what you are offering.

It looks like the same as always - I guess people don't like the format rule.

Maybe give them the chance to change their title or it is deleted.

rules seem all good to me!

just a few quick questions that might have already been covered but i might have missed. say on monday i want to sell some anubias and amazon swords so i go ahead and go:
fs anubias and amazon sword, 20 bucks, N NJ, shipping only.

but on friday i want to sell some rotala, a brig, and a dead squirrel.
Do i create a new thread for these three things? or do i add it to the old thread? if i add it to the old thread no one will really be able to find it from the thread title alone.

thanks for playing

I am assuming the dead squirrel is pick up only, so you might want to start a new thread.

The post office might have a flat rate squirrel box, but I think that was for living squirrels.

:)

anybody wanna buy my dead fish? if so they are located in Long Island Sound, go help yourself.

P.s. they came from there so no i'm not releasing any ornamental fish into the environment. Oh by the way, they have been pre-filleted.

So, back on topic, :argue: Mods, why do you have to enforce the rules you warned us you were going to enforce? :nono:

That's a good question, Coach.. despite the dead squirrel. :)

In that case, the seller gets to choose whichever way they prefer to do this. They can wait until the first thread is done, message me to close it, and create a new thread for the new stuff. OR.... they can just add the new stuff to the existing thread.

If the seller wants their items combined, I'll be happy to edit the title for them and edit the 1st post in that thread to add the new info. This way it's still clear what's offered for sale to potential buyers scanning over thread titles.... and the added items don't get lost at the end of a multi-page thread.

As for the enforcement policy that went into effect today, we've done as much as we could have to give everyone a head's up (weeks ago) that this was going to happen and when. Even so, this was still going to catch some people by surprise. The best thing to do at this point is to refer back to the rules posted for this section to make yourself aware of what's required.

Other than this, if anyone has a specific question about their situation or needs some assistance with their threads, just let me know by PM.

Thanks!

Don't know that I 100% agree with it being a good idea. (you can hover over subjects and it says the first part of the post without having to open it- this normally tells me all I need to know).

However, it is the rules, and they were posted quite some time ago, we knew they were comign. It doesn't hurt to make the adaption to how things are listed and go on.

It's just a minor change to have to write your subject different. It's not like they're asking us to eat a dead squirrel before we're allowed to sell anything. (but if they were I'd know who to get one from now).
