Woo! $7 Roseline Sharks!

My local Petsmart which is actually decent.... Well has gotten better after a few years... But anyways I was picking up some plants for my tanks when I found that the Woodinville petsmart, has Platinum gouramis (3.99 or somethin like that), Rummynose tetras ($2 or something like that), Neon Dwarf Rainbows (3-4 dollars) and Roseline Sharks! for $7 I picked up the 2 they had (they looked healthy). Now they are in my Quarantine with some rainbow cichlid babies. I'm picking some more up soon!
 
My lfs sells all Roseline Sharks for $25 each! It's outrageous! The mediums are the same price as the 1/2 inchers. But Petsmarts is all the same size and have good healthy color, fins etc.
 
SCORE!! I'm looking at getting a school of 6-8 of these, but at $30 a pop from my LFS, it's a stretch. I'll start keeping an eye out at the local Petsmart. I don't want to order them online because I've heard that shipping can be pretty rough on them. Paying $15 each, but losing half of them...well, I might as well buy from the LFS at $30 and support my local store.
 
:huh:Why would anyone pay that much for such a lame looking little fish? Am I missing something? Looks like a run of the mill tetra to me, maybe I have untrained eyes?

Some have pretty nice colors, I think they get about 4 or 5 inches. They're also called Denison Barbs.
 
Yep them barbs sure look like the cardinal tetra (and I take awful pics).

They are a sweet looking fish (and don't look so muck like a tetra when they hit 5 or 6 inches)
I would love some for my new tank but for the same reason ($25 ea) I have avoided them, plus the majority of them now are farm raised and I don't think the colours are as vivid as the wild caught ones
 
I got mine from petsmart back in the day (2 yrs ago). They started at $30 for the ones we had (roughly 3"). Well since they weren't selling we lowered the price by 25% and then 50%. I picked up 7 denisons at 3" each for $12.50 each!!!! I still have 4 of them over 2 years later. These are a fish I will always keep from now on.
