Awesome vanillarum on the tank setup. I don't mind the tank being low I always use pumps to do water changes and it's just a big grown out tank. I already made dividers for future use in breeding my albino krib.
I went to Petco today to pick up either a 10 or a 20, but then realized how expensive the hoods were... are there cheaper places or ways to do a hood?? Sorry, I am a noob.
Hey Whisker W, no, the tops ARE expensive ! I paid $40 for the tank and $37.99 for the all glass versa top ! So, you really can't win !! But try craigslist. Good luck.
all the tanks are a mess right now. Top one is just filled with sms and now just starting to plant. It's getting late and I have fish in a Tupperware still. Letting the sms dust settle right now. Also posting a diy section on the lighting mount.
No losses in the bottom tank, actually counted 25-30 kribs still, a dozen green cories. Mostly juvies, 2 adult female kribs, 2 clown loaches.
Top tank had some kia already. 2 neons and a cardinal. Man they are delicate. I netted one placed it in the tupperware DEAD. that fast it was crazy I was mad lol. Same water from the tank in the tupperware. Like he just had a stroke. Another cardinal was dead in a few hrs and another is doing the side stroke.

If there is a glass cutting shop somewhere near you, or a Lowe's you can have them custom cut you a lid. Only downfall is you wouldnt have the hinge.
I was in home depot considering that at one time, they just happen to have piano hinges that would work perfectly in the aisle next to the glass.
