On the topic of flying, I also get free flights to major US cities, and $200-400 business round trip tickets to major cities in Asia and europe, as long as I stop by the Pepsi offices when I'm there (assuming there is one)
No wonder they just raised the prices at our vending machine at work...lol (no seriously, they did, can you do something about that?)
Traditional, companies will keep the same hours and policies that the company (and the country's "standard") has always kept. Why would KKR buy the company out if you were doing everything wrong. And I think every business owner would recall the movie "Gung Ho" and avoid trying to change traditions. And another thing, could you imagine how many rich people there would be in Asia if Nike, Dr. Martin, or Adidas transfered the benefits of a job from the companies' home nation.
On the whole work ethic thing...Many are horrible workers, as I'm 30, and in management (can't wait to quit soon) I feel like I'm just a baby sitter who makes everyone not do what they want to, and make them do some of what they are suppose to do, and do the rest myself. And there are a few who have great work ethics, but they usually won't stick around as they will look to start their own companies or just, in general, be more motivated to move on and better themselves, like I am.
