I have a juvenile Molly that seems to be workling way too hard to swim. He is really working his fins in fast motion just to get around. No signs of disease at all. Swim bladder issue? I have never dealt with this before so I am unsure. Any help would be appreciated.

BTW, water parameters are good. Amonia and Nitrite 0, Nitrate around 20.

Thanks!

what about ur filter.....what kind???how big????? any thing else in the tank??????? if need be try using a sponge filter.

Juvenile? Keep in mind that juveniles sometimes just die for no apparent reason. I would watch him, keep the water clean, and if it turns out to be clear-cut swimbladder (floating around the tank, unable to keep its balance) trying to treat. But with juvenile fish, there is less you can do. Good luck!

No problem with too strong current. There have been no changes made in the tank. He is in my 55g with plenty of tankmates. He is definitely spending more time resting on the bottom of the tank, although he is not listing to one side or swimming off balance. He is just wokring really hard to swim. His side fins are not clamped - just the opposite - they are working in fast motion to get him around. Physically he looks completely normal - no visible signs of any sort of disease.

The tank is a 55g. Filter flow is not the issue. The mollie has been in there for 5 months, no problems. There are smaller fish in there than the mollie, and no one has ever had a problem.
