Worm cultures questions

Thanks. Great advice. I'm hoping that'll make them more nutritious. I just bought two bags of white bread from Costco though :/ I'm sure I can find another use for it.

At any given time, only one of the seven cultures I currently have growing will have significant numbers of worms on the walls. I've tried adding more water and letting them dry out more but neither of these induced climbing. But, when I seal the cultures so that fresh air can't get to them, the worms start climbing within minutes. If the cultures are then uncovered, they pull back into the growing medium. This indicates that restricting air is an effective technique to get microworms to climb.[/FONT]

That's a good point. I just use sealed lids on my microworm cultures, and it also seems like as soon as I start swiping them off they quickly migrate back down into the culture within a minute or two.

Oh cool! Maybe that'll also work for the vinegar eels. That would make collecting them a lot easier.
