I know that a lot of these get started and I tried posting to the hitchhiker thread but with no luck. Thanks for your help in advance.

I saw this worm? in my tank a while ago and then never again.

The next time I checked my filter there it was.... along with the rest of the family. I'm not sure what it is or if it's a problem in the filter. It kinda freaked me out so I just shoved the filter back in. I've checked since and the worm things seem to be happy going through and filtering my filter.

So I really have two questions. The first what are these things and does anyone know of a reason why I shouldn't have it in the filter?

I to have worms in my filter foams, they havent been a problem so far. worms mostly live on deterious Deterious is BAD worms are good IMO.

only worm ive seen in my sw tanks or filters were bristle worms..lol but in my garden pond outside, and a pile of em live in that filter! mine look basicaly like a HUGE bloodworm...or...a tiny red wigler fishin worm. theyre about a inch er inch n a half n skinny. some of em get dusted when i clean the filter but they allways come back fast. much like evryone i beleive em to be benwficial.

I wasn't able to pull one out successfully. I think I'll just leave themin then since no one seems to think it a problem. They seem to be doing a good job of cleaning the filter as a bonus.

Hitchhikers are great. I had no idea that I'd have so many other thing living in my tank when I started it.
