Hi all, while cleaning out my tank, I decided to clean under the bogwood, so I lifted it up and noticed a work type creature, I caught it in the net and got some pics (below) Its about 2" long, it has got loots of 'legs' all the way down its body and swims like a 'snake', does anybody know what it is and is it a threat to my fish as I think I saw anotherone which got away from me and is still in the tank

Thanks

Freshwater tank? This looks very much like a marine bristleworm. I'm not aware of a FW comp, but that doesn't mean there is not one. Search for aquatic annelids, or Oligochaetes.

worms

If I were you I would remove them at least until they are identified as a precaution. I would also avoid touching it with your bare hand.

its appears to be a worm of some sort:D also try searching FW intestinal worms thay could be some sort of parasite that came out of a fishes poop

did you keep

these things or did you get rid of them i'm very curious as to what the heck they are!!!
