About 4 days ago, I noticed a red patch near the anal fin on my largemouth bass. The bass is in a 40 gal aquarium and is ~7". I decided it was worth watching. Over the past few days it has been seemingly getting worse, with now what looks like a worm or some sort of something coming out of the sore. This is a little strange to me. I have been feeding it 2 medium size goldfish a day. This bass was a local catch about 2 weeks ago and up until now showed no signs of anything being wrong with it. It still eats and swims like it has since we got it. If the pic I'm uploading doen't work, pm me and I'll send it.

Bass are coldwater fish. Might want to post in the Cold Water forum.
40g is also way too small for a bass. Hope you intend on letting it go or upgrading to a much larger tank.
Bass also carry parasites, which is probably what you are seeing. Feeder fish also carry parasites, which doesn' thelp much.
Suggest you treat him for parasites.
