You placed her in a birth tank inside of the tank and she died and you had dead fry?
Well one of the major issues I have with breeding containers is that they do stress out the females. This will Cause death for the females and/or cause the female to abort the fry, so you will have still born fry.
The best thing to do is just have plenty of plants for cover, do regular water changes and you should have plenty of healthy fry.
