Would Cheato grown under this light? I've got some cheato algae and don't know if this light would help it grown. I've been advised to get some other light (it's light a floodlight) but just haven't had the time yet.

I have mine growing under a compact florescent flood with built in reflector that is rated at 5100 Kelvin

I wouldn't spend that much on a light to grow cheato. I have to prune mine every two weeks as it doubles in size. I am using one of those 5 dollar clamp on bulb holders from home depot and compact florescent with built in reflector I ordered online. For details http://www.melevsreef.com/fuge_bulb.html

ok, I forgot to mention that I have Blue legged and Scarlet hermit crab in the sump and they are eating the cheato (I did this b/c they can't be in the tank with turbo snail, apparently they'll eat them) So should I move them around?

Hermits to the tank and snails to the sump?

Why can't you have the hermits with the snails? If it is the small blue leg I have 20 of them with all of my snails in my main tank.. I have my scarlets in my refugium with another 5 small nassarisus a turbo and 2 astreas..

I read somewhere(online livestock selling site) that I should not place blue leg hermit crab with snails. I can't fin the source now though
.

as long as you gave extra hermit shells the snails should be fine, i keep both in my tank.
