I want to re-substrate my 36g tank, which currently has 7 mollies and 3 yo-yo loaches. If I worked non-stop, I could get it done in a few hours. But since I have other things to do, it would probably take more than a day. I have a 10g tank I can throw my stock in while I'm doing it. My question is, is the 10g too small for them to stay in there indefinately?

They wouldn't stay in the 10g for more than a week, I'm sure. They'd probably be in there for a weekend most likely.

What exactly are your plans for changing the substrate? It really should take too long. Is this a planted tank, or are there other weird factors? It seems like you could do a lot of rep work before you remove the fish and the they would not have to be i the small container very long.
