Would this be over doing it?

If i get a Aqua clear 110 for a 30 gallon would that be too much flow?

It is 500 gallons an hour!

Currently i have a penguin 200 on an exsisting tank and it is 200 gals an hour but i couldn't resist asking because it is only 10 bucks more 40 total at petsmart with the price check.



Tank is way over stocked!

Not at all, I love my AC 110/500s and use them pretty much on anything over 20 gallons.

If you do buy it, I'd put a sponge of some sort on the intake, as some smaller fish may not be able to resist the flow.

The aquaclear 110 goes for $63.99 at petsmart.com. The 70 goes for about $40. I would think the 70 is plenty of flow for a 29.

i use a sponge over all my filters. i would do it no matter what one you got.

I have a crappy, loose fitting sponge over my intake, and I am constantly surprised how much debris it catches. I wouldn't want that much glosso in my canister! LOL

Provided the fish you have can handle the flow, you can do it.

What kind and how many fish are in there?

danios and rainbows would really like that much flow, and adding a sponge will help tone it down a bit.

I think i will try the spong idea.

Wheres a good place to get it?

If it works out good enough i might even put it on my african cichlid tank.


The tank i want the bio 350 for is currently housing 7 goldfish, 4 dianos, 2 flag fish, and 5 guppies.

I just don't want to burn out the filter faster by put a spong on the end.


I want all the flow i can get, will it reduce it alot from what it is already putting out with the cartrege?
