WOW!!! So you want a dog!!!

That was rough but it brought up a lot of important points. Get your animals fixed. Don't buy them from a pet store, don't buy anything from a pet store that sells cats or dogs. If you must buy a dog, find a reputable breeder. Reputable breeders don't have to advertise, and they don't sell their dogs to pet stores.

I have to second that.

Or you could go to the pound/local rescue and save a homeless pup.

sad..both of mine where rescues..found one of them abandoned on a highway..he still had his tags, so i called the owner..and she admitted to leaving him there because she no longer wanted him...that..to me is a disgusting thing to do..

I could not agree more. The last duty you owe your pet is a good end. If this is rehoming to somewhere you know will take proper care, great. If you can not do this it is your responsibility to make sure they do not end up e.g. in a shelter/on a roadside, lost, hungry and scared.

If this means that you give them a good, humane death then do it - anything else is a cop out on your part, and you don't deserve your pets loyalty.

It is a disgusting thing to do- that dog was lucky to find you, though. The shelters here are absolutely clogged with animals. One of my dogs was seven when I got him from the local humane society, which has a 52% euthanasia rate. I know sometimes in life people have to make horrible, tough decisions, but I don't understand how you could do that to a dog you have had for seven years. Or seven minutes. He was in horrible shape, too. unneutered, half bald, he had bacterial infections, he was grossly underweight. People would glare at me when I took him for walks.
