WPG Help Please

Hi All,

I hear the size of the tank makes a difference in calculating WPG.

I have 4 x 36w on my 100G. The tank is 2ft or 24 inches high.

Currently planted with E. Behleri, E. Osiris, E. Quadricostatus and E. Uruguayensis. They all seem to be doing well so far.
I have a heating cable under the substrate and latterite mixed throughout.

Will my current plants survive?
What is my WPG?
Can I add E. Tenellus?

The WPG rule applies on tanks 20g-90g. Smaller tanks need more light, bigger needs less. With what you have now its about 1.44WPG on the original rule, but with the size factor about 1.60WPG. I think its about there. But not matter what you have a low light tank.

And I believe that you have mostly med to high light plants. So two things may happen. One is they grow slowly or not grow at all. The other is that they die. I would try in increase the light before doing anything else.

Cool - thanks for your help

They all seem to be ok (at the moment) - exhibiting new leaf growth on most of the specimens.
Is there a cheap way to increase the power of the lighting that doesn't damage the hood?
