I had attempted to describe my unknown wrasse before and didn't get any feedback, so I'll try to do a better job this time. (Sorry, I don't have a camera to post a pic).
I got the wrasse from a LFS that I frequent. The manager is pretty well informed about the fish that they carry. I noticed a lined wrasse that was hiding out in a corner cubicle for almost 2 weeks. I had intentions to purchase a six line in the near future, so I inquired about the unlabeled wrasse. The manager thought that it might be an eight line wrasse, but it wouldn't hold still long enough to count the lines or really examine. The fish had been there for a while, and was eating well. I decided that this would be my wrasse. Since it wasn't labeled the manager sold t to me for the price of a six line.
I am familiar with six line wrasses but I haven't seen an eight line anywhere but online (fairly limited photo gallery). I have had the fish for about a month and a half now and it is well adjusted and really funny to watch.
Description (Finally!):
-The wrasse is lined (can't get a clear count)
-The body is dominately red with yellow/golden lines (all pictures of eight lines that I have found have shown an orangey or plain coloration)
-The tail has a green tint (like a six line)
-The head/mouth is small and the eyes are kind of "bugged" out
-The pectoral fins are a bright, royal blue
-The eyes (and this is what really confuses me) aren't striped like any of the other six line wrasses that I have seen
Can anyone ID this wrasse or perhaps share an image with me that may help
