I think i have ick again (yey) i noticed my perruno flinch and scratch its side and then one of my clownloaches, I have bumped the temperature up to 80+ (prob will be around 85) and added ws3, i heard it is safe but can be dangerous, My tank holds around 250l and it is 1 drop per 4.5 l (according to the ws3 bottle) this means about 55 drops, however i have loaches and scale less fish, therefore i am super careful they reccommend a half dose as ws3 is super strong, I added around 16 drops, to be on the safe side as i am unsure about how much water is displaced by the wood and stuff ( i guess 100l) and i added a smaller dose (aboot a 1/3) can i add to little? I am unsure if it is ick but i want to be safe.

thanks is this ok? how often should i repeat and how long is the course?

Firstly I would make sure you know it really is ich before you add anything in the tank. Scratching is a good indicator but not decisive.

I'm not sure what ws3 is but why not try reading this article and maybe give the salt treatment a chance.

Salt Treatment

Sorry to hear. I started with ich last wednesday, and am now almost clear. Unfortunately, I lost the 5 tetras that may have brought it. My last male died yesterday. I recommend the salt and heat method, as safest.
I have a black ghost knife in my tanks (scaless fish) very sensitive to any meds. The salt and raised temp worked fine. My pictus is recovering, eating well and flying around the tank tonight. I am relieved. He had 2 bloody spots, but these seem to be much better as well. Today I did a 40% water change, however, I am keeping the heat up for another few days.
Vacuum the substrate, every day. Replace what water you remove. Luck to you.

i dont know what i did that was right, i shoved a pile of water conditioner into the tank due to the "healing" stuff it says on the bottle, and the ws3 was small enough not to hurt my loaches and the one that was pale last night is nice and dark this morning so im happy

as for ws3 it is "king british ws3" its a very strong treatment that apparently always works (for ich and parasite) but as its so stron it can kill the loaches

o well they look fine now ill just add same dose of ws3 every 48 hours for aweek to be on the safe side

cheers
