Does Christmas Moss grow on glass or does it need something to root itself to? Sorry if this may sound dumb, but I have heard of moss walls and was wondering exactly how to build a moss wall.

You have to use mesh as a base for the moss. There are several ways to do this. I would Googlearound, but here is a good one...http://www.aquarticles.com/articles/plants/leong_Moss_Wall.html
my java moss has attatched itself to the back wall of my tank and is starting to spread out quite nicely. i think that was just a fluke though
Wow, that's pretty neat! I would guess the tank was really well established, and had a nice, thick biofilm on the back of it. Maybe the moss could grip on to that?
I have also had moss gor on the glass of my tanks. It happens, but very slowly and you need to have a base for it to grow off of.
