XP3 OR 2217 (searched, need more info)

I'm not familiar with the 2217 or XP3 (or XP2). I have a 2028 and I plan on buying another one when I have some more cash to throw at this thing. I have the 2028 set up right now on my 20 gallon tank (to get the cycle started) and it's COMPLETELY silent. Easy to set up and well worth the extra 50 dollars you will spend on it (compared to other filters). The media is a bit expensive but Eheim has a 3 year guarantee on this item. I heard good and bad things about the 2217 but I most of the negatives were just "laziness" issues and nothing catastrophic.

well for the money, i guess i'll give a shot at the 2 XP2's.....if i do set them up at opposite ends of the tank to eliminate dead spot potential, is there still a risk of creating this wave in the center to stir debris? Otherwise does everyone agree that only one XP3 and an HOB aqua clear 50 wouldnt be enough? Thanks again

I have 2 Filstar's on each on my tanks. I mount the spraybar's vertically on each end of the tank and point them so that they can give the water a circular movement. If you mount the spraybars horizonally, directed at each other, you might get some dead zones.
