My 3 eat all day. I just added 3 small hatchets today. After lites out I went to check on the tank and found 2 hiding and 1 flopping on the floor. I added it back to the tank and an angel went after it. Hes trying to eat them. Ive had some neon disappear before and Im sure they got eaten. Will I have better luck switching out The 3 lrg ones for small ones?

Angels will snack on fish that can fit in their mouths. Neon tetras should not be kept with Angels for the most part although some people have no problems. If the hatchets are smaller then the Angels will probably have them for snacks. FYI.. Hatchets are notorious for jumping so you have to have a covered tank for them or you will frequently find them on the floor.

Fish are opportunity eaters - if there is food present, they will eat.

Angels are cichlids and as such they will behave like any other cichlid will. Neons are their favorite meal in the wild.
