i bought a crowntail betta a few weeks ago and part of its tail had been damaged, but looked as if it was trying to grow back. it was about 1/4" long. well, today i looked at him again and his tail is at least 1/8" longer. its now exactly half as long as the rest of his tail that is undamaged. it was shorter than that when i bought him.

That's good to hear. I had this Butterfly Koi that was infected by some bacteri that ate his fins. He was left with only a chunck of its pectoral, ventral and caudal fin, but now they have regrown to its magnificient shape.

Do you know what caused the damage to the fins?

cool!
Mine regrew his, a couple of times. If your's hasn't yet, the color gets more vibrant with time.

sooo

Sooo FL, what your saying is we need to start cutting the fins off of our bettas to get brighter colors?? :hang:

no, i dont know how it was damaged. i bought him 3 weeks ago and his tail was already starting to grow back when i got him. i knew it was damaged when i got him but my husband insisted we get him anyway.
