 After working for the Mission for a year, I finally got my pic and my blurb on the website!!! so anyone who wonders what a Magakitty looks like, or what kind of shelter/rehab I work for, well, here's your chance to check it out.

I'm proud of what we do. My job is to run the women and childrens portion of our program. Today we introduced social model detox. It only took me a year to convince the board that there was a need for more than just white-knuckling, sink-or-swim type detox. the social model will only be implemented in my program, but once the success rate is proven, perhaps they will implement it for the men.

Way to go Kit...great job...and keep up the strong shoulders ya got....

Congrats...............:bday:

Congrats..

thanks clown-lover!

i worked hard enough for it - I do a director's job, for a manager's pay - and it depends who you ask, and on what day, what my title is... my business cards and the website ID me as manager - but they usually introduce me (such as at events, to big donors, etc) as the director - i don't care what they call me - I love my job. But it would be nice to get a director's pay, since I do the work anyway

I used to do a job for the pay, now I do the job for the fun.. Of course the difference in pay is like 40k a year, but I don't dread going to work in the morning. I don't dream about work. I have fun at work for the most part (except when I'm hitting construction completion deadlines), and I like who I work with..

Like I tell the young guys I work with, bought the t-shirt and have since burned it..

Again Good Luck.. And Congrats.

LOL - I tell them, been there, can't remember it!!! There is a reason I work in the field I do - and I really do love it

Yup, we certainly have been there and done that....for I know I have, ooohhhh Kitty almost up on a year for me....yyyeeeehhhhaaaa.....
but I would be proud to have a job like yours, it would be a daily reminder of where I have been in my life and where I am now....

What we see everyday, in our lives, makes us stronger people and what we strive for each and everyday...

Amen to you....

You got that right, Kim - and congrats on your successful "trudge down the road of happy destiny". :bday: Keep on truckin' It only gets better.

Sharing our experience, strength and hope is what keeps us strong, and helping those whose journey has yet to begin reminds us where we came from. I feel for my new client, because she is going through living hell right now. Please keep her in your prayers, because she is to the point - so spent that she doesn't even have any breasts left - where she is going to die if she doesn't get it soon. My heart aches for her, but I know how awesome it gets on the otherside of that hell.

I am proud that God has chosen me to serve in the manner that I do. And I do look forward to going to work 99.9% of the time. when I start feeling burnt-out, I take an extra day or two off (I get 7 personal days and 2 vacation weeks a year)

There is no place I'd rather be, and my fishies help me to decompress when i get home

Great big hugs to you, Kim and all of your's (two legged, and finny as well) You and your friendship are greatly appreciated
