yellow headed jawfish

Hello all,

I have found yet another fish that I would looove to add to my25 fowlr tank. It is the yellow headed jawfish, it is really cute and I was wondering how hardy this specie is. Thanks for replying.

From all my experience, not hardy at all. My mom has tried several and has never been successful. I had a pair for 3 weeks, eating, healthy, etc then suddenly died. They need a substrate of 6+ inches and generally require live foods to start then transfer over to frozen. I would start with one of the easier jaws like the Dusky, or Tiger before you try the Pearly/Yellow Head jaw! Hope this helps and good luck!

The tank also has to be tightly covered. Very talented jumpers.
