well, i just ordered some of this, and plan on totally restarting my tank, - draining it, cleaning everything and letting it sit out for a couple days with no water - that should get rid of any traces of ich right? or can it live even without water for a certain amount of time? Also--- when i get the biospira, since you are supposed to do a full stocking - on a 20 gal - my mom wants some tetras, guppies, an algea eater of some type maybe some danios... excluding the algae eater fish, and going on the general guideline of 1" a gal would say a couple male guppies, a few female and then 10 or so tetras w/ the algae eater be overstocking? i realize that chineese algae eaters can get rather large... Thanks

I wouldn't worry about getting any kind of algae eater for a month or so after setting up a new tank, there won't be any algae in there for it to eat for that long at least unless you give it algae wafers or zucchini. Since you're going to have a community tank with small fish get a couple of otos after a few weeks or use that time to find a pleco species that won't get huge. Chinese algae eaters get to be aggressive when they mature and that won't sit too well with the gups and tetras.
