You Know They Exist...

Anti-matter is larger than visable unisversal 'matter'...

Joe, where did you get that information from? I've read that anti-matter is the exact same as matter. Only the charges of the protons and electrons are reversed. I also read that there is relatively little anti-matter in our universe. Some theories postulate that when the Big Bang first happened all the anti-matter and matter started hitting each other and exploding. Matter was in larger amounts than Anti-matter so what we see now is what is left over.

I really liked the discussion about quarks and such, can we continue that? My feeling is that Quarks are just about at the level where energy converts to matter.

I like that idea. Unfortunately I just know what I've read from around a dozen physics books. I'm not that knowledgeable about it personally.

Voices... :D ..The good ones!

What would you consider "empty space"? .. No - not between somebodies ears.. LOL ....

Here's a quote about galaxies....

"Galaxies, or nebulae -

There are about 50 billion enormous groups of stars and solar systems called galaxies. There may easily be a billion stars in our own galaxy, the milky way. The number and variety of galaxies seems to be endless, and yet there is evidence that the size of this collection of stuff which we call our universe is limited. The radius of the spherical space occupied by this material in the universe is probably about 15 billion light years (a light year is about six trillion miles).

Oh yeah, I almost forgot to add.

With numbers like that, chances are, we are not alone... And, that could be a good thing, or a real bad thing!

Well I think that if two intelligent races did find each other during the brief time they existed, it would be rare for them to fight one another.

Any race that became major space travelors without destroying themselves first would either be naturally very peaceful, or had found out how to peacefully cohabitate with others to the exclusion of war.

Also, undoubtedly, one would be faaaaaar more advanced than the other. The chances that they would be both at a close enough level of technological achievement that they would have pitched battles would be astronomical.

Most likely one would either ignore or observe the other that was more primitive than them. But keep a mainly hands-off approach to it all either way.

But man, I would love to find proof of such a thing. Even if we found a long gone and dead civilization of intelligence. An ancient satellite or ship, anything!
