Just curious what everyone's dream tank would be if they weren't limited by space/money. I'd like a huge wall sized tank like you see at aquariums housing all kinds of tropical freshwater fish. In a more realistic world though, I'd like to put together a 125gal faux saltwater tank. It'd have crushed coral sand and base rock and be stocked with the brightest colored africans I could find.

you wouldn't belive how many people have put up this same thread, I'm one of them. search the forums with the key words 'dream tank' or something similar

400-500 gallon tank:
-Rock wall on 3 sides, gravel all over bottom, planted nicely

-2 silver arowanas
-5 oscars
-4 plecos
-3 Jack Dempseys
-12 Pictus Catfish
-3 jardini arowanas

OR

6 feet by 3 feet by 3 feet tank~ 65%-75% filled with water
-Sand everywhere, 3 islands out of sand, mangrove plants in the islands, java fern and java moss here and there

-6 archer fish
-4 "freshwater" stonefish
-100 ghost shrimp
-10 red crabs
-fly larvae which will hatch and get shot down by the archers.

OR

50 gallon long tank:
-Slow current, medium filtration, HEAVILY planted.

-6 leopard ctenpomas
-2 zebra plecs
-10-20 feeders

personally, i think you guyes arn't thinkin BIG enough. with all the money in the world and as much space as you want.. im thinkin big enough to scuba dive. or maybe a messed up river.. THE WHOLE RIVER and just fix it up. try to restore its habitat and have some huge fish... then again maybe im just crazy and you guyes got the right ideas...

NO WAY. 3 story house, a fish tank goes to all 3 stories, the top ending at the bottom of the 3rd story. Then it has glass 2 feet thick all the way down so you can see EVERYTHING.

Go fishing in the top, or swimming, and WOW.

The most awsome discus tank you ever saw...lol....bout 20 feet long and 5 feet deep.....lots and lots of plants and driftwood and rocks and tree trunks....and ..and german blue rams all over the place.....and...and....yeah..lots of stuff !!! :D

- Volume: 9800 gallons
- Substrate: Voltan river sand
- Heavily-planted edges grading out to an open central expanse accentuated with slate "caves"; floating mats of vegetation (Anacharis & frogbit).
- Fauna: One silver arowana; one African arowana; seven aquatic tentacle snakes (Erpeton tentaculatum); one Fly River turtle; one tulip eel (Synbranchidae); one firewood catfish; six flag-fin Prochilodus; one South American "duck-billed dragon" knifefish; a New Guinean (true freshwater) moray eel, Gymnothorax sp.).

OOh, I like oddballs second post, have a three story house and a tank the same size as the house on one of its sides and have the wall of the house made of glass and a hallway on every story going the width of the tank so you can walk like in the middle of the tank. O and don't forget the self cleaning system! Stock it with everything freshwater and who cares about compatibility they'll have plenty of hiding spots in a tank that big! ;)
