YOUR favorite fish !!

how about frogfish ? my LFS has some .. going at $10 (singapore dollars) each. they look kinda interesting .. was thinking about it ... is there anything special about them ? also .. can anyone suggest a blue color fish?

A Frogfish is an Angler. Just another common name for a type of Angler. $10 singapore?? I dont know what tht comes out to in American dollars, but the "Wartskin Frogfish" I have found are usually around $100 (in California). Other type of Anglers are usually cheaper.

Frogfish, in a community with gobies? yikes...
Plan accordingly,--they can/will predate their smaller tankmates faster than you can see it happen. The Frogfishes/Anglers in particular can take a surprisingly large fish down in a blur of speed, including specimens of equal length and beyond (not a misprint, believe it).

Agree, anglers are not suitable for the average community, and IMO, require a bit more attention than more common fish. They will eat anything and everything they can, and really suffer from being overfed. In a community, they must be the smallest fish in there by at least half to ensure the safety of the other fish/motile inverts.

the LFS has got the frogfish eating live brine ... would that be ok ? my gobies are larger than the frog fish... and the rest of my fish are larger than it.. other than one firefish... he never grew ... had him for almost half a year.

Let me think about this... No.
You are assuming the Frogfish will stay small, and the live brine will somehow negate it's wild instinct. On top of that my friend, you have no clue how they feed. Frogfishes are like a big stretchy bag with a mouth. They can actually swallow prey larger than their body; they just grab it, fold it half and gulp. Get the picture? By the way, morays do a similar trick, I have seen it on more than one occasion and the fish was far wider than those flexible jaws.
If you don't believe this, I suggest you contact the hobbyist on the following thread who lost a Lionfish almost double the size of his Frog.

i really like the frog .. i thought of 2 options ... 1. i keep it in my main tank. feed it well. hopefully it wont eat anyone. 2. i set up a smaller tank for it and it only. i think i like option 2, but what size tank is ok for the fish ? right now .. i guess its at 2 inches long.

Blenny

 Lawnmower blenny! They are easy to care for, very curious, will get along with almost any fish (blue devils), eats well, and very fun to watch and see what he will do next!

My LM Blenny cracks me up. He loves algae discs. When I put one in, he perches on a rock above it and rolls his eyes back and forth, then dives down and grabs the disc in his mouth and swims off with it. Reminds me of a dog with a frisbee!

Clownfish

:) I could never be without a pair of Ocellaris Clowns. They are just happy, little fish. Colorful, active, easy, and it's fun to watch them dance together. There need to be two. Mine are in love, but I don't think they have decided yet which one is going to decide to be the female.

I love the clownfish too, always a favorite. I also have to admit I really dig my engineer goby. He's grown a ton really fast, keeps one entire end of my 110ga tank aerated well, is friendly with a lot of personality, and doesn't require much in the way of feeding. It's been a really pleasant surprise.
