Your tank in its atmosphere

Yay! You quilt too Noods?? That's AWESOME!!

I haven't been able to for a few yrs now. The arthritis is taking it's toll on the fingers & hands, but man, I sure loved it :(

I Have never even owned a sewing machine. Every stitch in those suckers was hand put :)

*looks around for Noodles* :)

Hey Sharon! Yes, I quilt. My first few projects were all hand pieced and stitched....(kudos to you!!!) ....I have since found the wonders of machine piecing and rotary cutting. :lipssealedsmilie: I unfortunately do not have the equipment (or the time to do it by hand) to "quilt" my own work, so I send it out. I do love sitting at my machine. It is as therapuetic as my tanks. ;) (my husband is amazed at how "happy I appear" when I am sewing!) :hearts: I have given all of my work away as gifts so none are around my house.....

I absolutely loved it too!
Some of the most beautiful ones I've ever seen were machine stitched!

I've made quite a few that I gave away too, & everyone loves them!
The last one I was able to make was 5 yrs ago for my grandson :(
It's such a great hobby; unfortunately it's one that will die with me.
My 2 daughters have ZERO interest in learning how to sew, knit, crochet, etc...

Oh well, diff strokes for different folks :)

I know what you mean. I only have one daughter (step) and my grand-daughters are very little; so I have no one to share this with. thats ok - it makes me happy and it gives me great pleasure. My grand daughters will someday look at their quilts with my signature on them and all will be good. :grinyes:

What would I give to be able to do that! My mother knew how and taught me BASIC stuff in crocheting but died way too young (I was 12 at the time) and never had the opportunity to show me any quilting or knitting.

Aww Snoop, I'm sorry :(

It was always in my family. My grandmother who is 92 & still alive, made BEAUTIFUL sweaters for everyone, and of course taught my mom, who then taught me.

It's really sad that it seems to have gone by the wayside

The blue quilt in one of these pics, the top was actually sewn by my greatgrandmother, grandmother, & my mom, then put away for years.
After I started quilting, my mom gave it to me & I hand quilted & finished it
4 generations!

It's one of my prized possessions

I bet! I have many doilies and afghans made by all of my generations past. I have crochet some afghans (granny square is all I know) and have taught my oldest but soooo much has been lost.

Sorry to the OP for getting this off track. I will behave now.

((((((Snoop))))))

If you are really interested in learning, there are some awesome websites on knitting & crocheting.

This is my very 1st sweater, & very 1st afghan
I pretty much had to wing it because my mom was in Fla, & I was in Canada.
There's only so much you can learn over the phone :lipssealedsmilie:

This is the 4 generation quilt

Oopsie!
I'm so sorry for hijacking this thread :lipssealedsmilie:
