Your Thoughts? Safe to put in tank?

Could age have been a factor in their deaths?

Maybe as the neons became smaller the last remaining ones began to feel lonely and like their was no reason for living. I think this happened to a killiefish pair that I had. The male jumped out of the tank and the female died shortly after. She was a young fish I think she gave up and felt her life was pointless.

It's a tough call with the bosemani but hopefully you figure it out. You could try putting him back in but keep a close eye on him and the tank maybe?

Thank you guys:)

I was just going to say maybe captain is right and it was age, but then I realized that the remaining 4 are all still alive and well in the 55g. Hmm:( It could also be that the last ones got lonely, I suppose.

I just hate looking at the rainbow in that small tank. Granted, he's not a huge one and he does swim around a lot and there's nothing else in there with him to take up space (and he seems pretty happy). But then I see a big happy, chock-full-of-plants 55g and think he'd have so much fun in there!

I reallllly want to put him in.......ahh I hope my impatience isn't going to get my other sick fish somehow....but I think today I'll go ahead and add him in.

*you watch, after all of this, he'll somehow not get along with the other fish and all this worrying would be for nothing. Then I dont know what I'd do with him because he can't go back in with the meanie goyder! That goyder river has a particularly mean personality and has killed 2 other rainbowfish before. One of which was the prettiest turquoise I had ever seen:sad *
