Umm...no...I have 5 that I took home just 7 weeks ago when they were thin and 3/4" long...all are now fat and 3"-3½" long....the trick is plenty of quality food and lots of big water changes (mine get 75%-80% twice weekly). I expect mine to hit 5" each by early February.

I agree, they don't take their time growing. When I bought the first 3 of mine, they were really skinny and small (about 2 inches)....then month later they were fatter and about 3. A couple months after that, they were about 4 inches....and now they are around 5 inches.
